L'Oréal inaugure sa plus grande usine au monde en Indonésie pour répondre à la demande en croissance rapide du marché de la beauté en Asie du Sud-Est

L'Oréal investit 100 millions d'euros dans la première usine certifiée LEED d'Indonésie

L'Oréal a annoncé aujourd'hui l'ouverture de sa plus grande usine au monde. Le bâtiment de 66 000 m2 est situé au sein de la zone industrielle de Jababeka, dans la province de Java occidentale en Indonésie, à environ 60 kilomètres à l'est de Djakarta. Avec un investissement en plusieurs étapes totalisant les 100 millions d'euros (approximativement 1,25 billion d'IDR), cette nouvelle usine va devenir la plateforme de production pour la région Asie du Sud-Est.

Conformément à l'ambition du Groupe d'atteindre le milliard de nouveaux consommateurs dans les dix prochaines années, l'usine répond à la demande croissante du marché indonésien et des pays de l'ASEAN (l'Association des Nations de l'Asie du Sud-Est), qui représentent de nouveaux territoires de croissance pour L'Oréal.

Une usine de pointe spécialisée dans les produits de consommation  

La première usine L'Oréal d'Indonésie a été créée en 1986 à Ciracas, dans la banlieue de Djakarta. En raison de la très forte croissance enregistrée au cours de ces 4 dernières années, la décision a été prise de construire une nouvelle usine plus grande et de transférer l'ensemble des activités sur le site de Jababeka.

Dernière née des 43 usines que compte désormais L'Oréal dans le monde, l'usine de Jababeka fabriquera des produits de soins capillaires et des produits de soin pour la peau pour les marques de grande distribution L'Oréal Paris et Garnier. 30% de la production approvisionneront le marché national, et 70% desserviront l'ensemble des autres pays de la région Asie du Sud-Est.

En 2013, l'usine produira 200 millions d'unités. Elle possède une capacité installée de 300 millions d'unités, avec la possibilité d'aller jusqu'à 500 millions d'unités par an. Cette usine bénéficie d'installations de pointe, notamment de chaînes de production à grande vitesse, de cuves de traitement gérant automatiquement les formulations, d'un système d'éclairage basé sur la détection de mouvement et d'une station de traitement des eaux à technologie avancée, actuellement en construction.

L'engagement en matière de développement durable

L'usine de Jababeka est la première usine certifiée LEED en Indonésie et a été construite conformément aux exigences LEED. Il s'agit d'une norme américaine qui définit des règles d'excellence en termes de conception et de processus de construction. Ces règles concernent les principaux aspects de la durabilité que sont notamment l'utilisation rationnelle de l'eau et de l'énergie, la gestion de l'atmosphère, l'emploi judicieux des ressources et la qualité de l'environnement.

Depuis 2005, L'Oréal Indonésie a réduit ses déchets et sa consommation d'eau par unité de 52%, et ses émissions de CO2 par unité de 38%. L'objectif est de faire diminuer les émissions absolues de CO2 de 50% entre 2005 et 2015 (et de passer ainsi de 2 000 à 1 000 tonnes sur la période).

Aide à la population et à l'économie locales

L'Oréal emploie près de 800 personnes en Indonésie, et environ 450 d'entre elles travaillent sur le nouveau site de Jababeka. Lors des opérations de transfert entre les deux usines, 96% des salariés employés dans l'ancienne usine de Ciracas ont suivi à Jababeka. Afin de faciliter leur déménagement sur le site de Jababeka 40 km plus loin, L'Oréal a proposé à ses employés un certain nombre d'avantages, parmi lesquels un accès facilité au logement. Au total, 262 salariés ainsi que leurs familles sont désormais propriétaires de leur habitation aux abords de la nouvelle usine.

Par ailleurs, cette usine, qui prévoit de se développer en fonction des besoins du marché, utilisera autant que possible les matériaux locaux et fera appel le plus possible aux fournisseurs locaux.
