SwiftKnowledge, LLC, a global provider of web-based business intelligence (BI) software, announced today SwiftKnowledge for ISVs, an embedded BI technology which can be deployed either in a cloud computing environment or as an appliance.
With SwiftKnowledge, independent software vendors (ISVs) gain a significant and tangible advantage over their competitors by easily embedding robust reporting and analytics, predictive modeling, data mining, and trend analysis capabilities into their solutions. SwiftKnowledge enables ISVs to extend to their customers secure, unified access to information located in multiple data sources – via flexible BI technology featuring user-friendly executive dashboards – so they may proactively and more effectively manage critical business data.
The 100 percent web-based SwiftKnowledge technology deploys quickly – integrating with all content repositories to give companies a complete, intuitive view of critical business information – and is specifically designed for interactive, high-volume use by non-technical business users. With SwiftKnowledge, these business users are empowered to configure custom analytical views, threshold-driven alerts, and visually appealing dashboards that simplify their unique reporting and analysis needs – all without requiring IT or developer assistance. Additionally, SwiftKnowledge’s advanced predictive modeling and data mining capabilities allow for delivery of higher-value applications to a broader user base.
“The market opportunity for intuitive BI technology such as that offered by SwiftKnowledge is immense,” said Robert Olson, chief executive officer for SwiftKnowledge. “According to a Forrester Research survey, as reported by ComputerworldUK, 75 percent of respondents said most reports and dashboards are still created by the IT department; two-thirds said their end users felt the BI tools were somewhat or very difficult to learn; and more than half of IT managers said their end users often reverted back to individual tools, such as desktop spreadsheets, to get data or reports they couldn't get through the BI applications. This haphazard work-around clearly is not an appropriate approach for any data analysis, and it certainly doesn’t put critical BI tools into the hands of the people who most need them – the business users. Through our patented technology, SwiftKnowledge offers distinct advantages – including rapid deployment, ease of use by non-technical business users, a standards-based architecture and salient business benefits – to ISVs and their customers.”
More than 10,000 users worldwide utilize SwiftKnowledge products, which are built on an established BI technology that has been awarded several patents for its innovative security and scalability functionalities. The company’s patented Component-Level Security™ (CLS) delivers targeted content, features and functionality according to a user’s role and profile, and secures data granularly down to the individual cell, for dramatically enhanced security and flexibility in a cloud computing environment. In addition, the patented SwiftKnowledge Interactive Data Streaming™ (IDS) uses virtual and physical tables combined with the company’s proprietary packet engine to deliver extremely high performance and scalability in a cloud computing environment.
“Survival in today’s economic environment requires organizations maintain immediate, increased visibility into their business,” said Daniel Moloney, Ph.D., president for SwiftKnowledge. “The inability to access and trust data trapped in multiple applications and across multiple repositories is a risk today’s companies can’t afford to take. By embedding SwiftKnowledge BI technology into their solutions, our ISV partners deliver robust analytics and predictive modeling capabilities that help their customers proactively foresee risk, solve problems, identify and leverage opportunities, and predict future outcomes by easily accessing and understanding information from multiple systems. As a result, many companies rightly consider our technology a strategic financial investment rather than simply an information technology purchase.”
Via the embedded SwiftKnowledge technology, SwiftKnowledge ISV partners help their customers identify and mitigate risk at all levels of the organization; align profitability metrics to maximize performance and success; gain greater visibility into the enterprise; automatically and proactively push out critical, actionable information; respond more quickly to problems or opportunities; identify and analyze change drivers, trends and inflection points; and reduce errors and eliminate redundancy by automating manual, time-consuming processes.
Delivery Methods
Two delivery methods are available for
SwiftKnowledge for ISVs – Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and BI as an
appliance. Both methods utilize the same software code base, allowing
for maximum efficiency and minimal risk. SaaS is an application delivery
service that enables accelerated deployment with a lower initial
investment. It helps ISVs utilize the robust SwiftKnowledge BI
technology while reducing the need for maintenance, updates and
management of the hardware and software back-end components. With SaaS
delivery, the only client requirement is access to an Internet Explorer
or Firefox browser. No desktop component installations, downloads nor
ActiveX or Java applets are required.
“SwiftKnowledge delivers better performance and broader usage in a cloud computing/SaaS environment than other BI solutions because of the enhanced security and scalability delivered via our patented technology,” said Allie Gentry, chief technology officer for SwiftKnowledge. “We’re pleased to offer our ISV partners a SaaS delivery option, which gives them many financial and strategic advantages in today’s challenging economic environment. This delivery method significantly decreases both upfront and ongoing costs, requires zero holes in the firewall, and eliminates versioning and user synchronization issues. It’s a great option for partners who need to mitigate their upfront investment while helping their customers improve decision-making and business practices via robust BI technology.”
Alternatively, BI as an appliance is a unique, optimized, complete intelligence solution designed to provide cost and benefit advantages. It enables companies to “plug-in” the software and pre-built solutions, so they may begin using the product immediately. As part of this architecture, SwiftKnowledge also offers a remote implementation process designed to minimize labor costs and maximize margins by leveraging ISV pricing models.
Pricing and Availability
SwiftKnowledge for ISVs is
available now. ISV solutions packages are customized based upon specific
