“One of the key market drivers and value propositions of RIA technology is its ability to ease the process of bringing existing client/server applications onto the Web, while maintaining the same levels of usability, performance and security,” said Anne Thomas Manes, application platform strategies vice president and research director at the Burton Group. “Not only can RIAs lower administration, management and end user training costs, but they can also enable enterprises to better service their customers through widespread, rapid application deployment.”
Nexaweb 4.0, which is specifically designed around XML and Java for enterprise-class application development, enables customers to leverage their Java skills investment for the universal development and deployment of applications that run on existing infrastructures. In addition, Nexaweb 4.0 includes new messaging functionality that utilizes commoditized Internet networks, as well as enhanced open standards support for future-proofing enterprise applications and skills training investment.
Nexaweb 4.0 key features include:
Plug-in Framework: A powerful extensibility mechanism that allows the embedding of third party Java components, such as charting and visio-like drawing. It also enables users to build custom UI widgets and non-UI components, such as XML-based custom tags.
Internet Messaging Bus: A robust messaging layer that compensates for the diverse and unreliable network connections of the Internet. It supports reliable, highly secure real time communications in a variety of scenarios, including client-to-server, server-to-server, server-to-client and client-to-client.
Distributed XML Engine: A high performance, standards-based XML engine with a small footprint, which supports incremental updates and automatic synchronization of data over any network.
“We focused our Nexaweb 4.0 development efforts on what mid-to-large companies need most in a RIA solution, including robust functionality, ease-of-use, industrial strength, openness and extensibility,” said Coach Wei, CTO and founder of Nexaweb. “Our products are made for companies like SunGard that require a highly scalable, secure and reliable IT solution, and we’re extremely pleased to help them fulfill their own customers’ needs.”
Nexaweb Version 4.0 is available immediately by calling (617) 577-8100 or visiting www.nexaweb.com.
