"For a few years at JavaOne the situation has been that it wasn't clear what JavaOne was bringing to the picture and I am really delighted to see that that this year we are seeing a lot more technologies that are real," said JavaLobby founder Rick Ross (pictured), when asked by SYS-CON group publisher Jeremy Geelan on SYS-CON.TV at the JavaOne conference in San Francisco what was most distinctive about this year's JavaOne. "We are not talking about conjecture," Ross continued, "We are not talking about things that you might be able to use at some time in the indefinite future. We are talking about real solutions to real problems that people can work with right now. And I think that's really cool thing: this is the Java industry in action, with real stuff that you can really use right now."
Other highlights from the interview, which will appear shortly on SYS-CON.TV playlist in our JavaOne 2005 round-up.
