The Bunker launches Infrastructure Outsourcing service

Innovative bespoke solutions bring powerful and scalable opportunities for mid-sized organisations

Kent, UK, 22 September 2009, The Bunker Secure Hosting Ltd (www.thebunker.net), a leading provider of Ultra Secure Data Centres and Managed Services on a range of technologies, today announces the launch of its Infrastructure Outsourcing service, a scalable, end-to-end service designed to manage part or all of a company’s IT function. The service is aimed at mid-sized companies who may have previously felt excluded from the benefits of outsourcing their IT infrastructure as IT outsourcing services have traditionally been marketed to large and enterprise-sized organisations.

Infrastructure Outsourcing (IO) by The Bunker delivers an agile service, designed to free IT departments from day-to-day operational activities via a scalable infrastructure tailored to a company’s specific needs and requirements, thus enabling them to concentrate their efforts on delivering value back to their business stakeholders. Benefits include a fixed monthly fee for IT services, reducing both capital expenditure and uncertainty, as well as 24/7/365 management of digital assets within a high specification ultra secure data centre.

“As an IT Outsourcing and Managed Services provider The Bunker benefits from leveraging economies of scale through dedicated facilities, shared services and a wide technical skill base,” said Peregrine Newton, CEO, The Bunker. “This allows us to offer medium-sized businesses that may not have considered outsourcing previously, a flexible, scalable and agile IT service far beyond what can be achieved by keeping all IT functions in-house.”

Infrastructure Outsourcing brings together a flexible, completely scalable menu of components:
- Data Centre
- Server Infrastructure
- Network and Security
- Applications Management
- Data Protection

The two core areas of The Bunker’s Infrastructure Outsourcing cover infrastructure management and application management:

- Infrastructure Management – The Bunker can take responsibility for all or a portion of your IT systems and components such as firewalls, storage, server infrastructure, systems monitoring and data centre hosting, and deliver a service up to and including the operating system level, all based on agreed service levels for a fixed number of years.
- Application Management – The Bunker can fully manage and support your business-critical applications (for example, Exchange, SQL and Oracle) either for existing legacy applications or for newly installed and other in-house applications. This package can be delivered as a fully managed outsourced service.

All components of the service are supported by a dedicated service desk representative that will own any issue from start to finish. The service is backed by industry competitive Service Level Agreements (SLA) and delivered within the guidelines of the ITIL best practice framework.
