SYS-CON Media's new Website, currently serving readers in its beta version, becomes the fastest growing i-technology media Website in the world, according to independent Alexa ratings, an Amazon.com company. Two year comparison of SYS-CON.com "page views" statistics against TechTarget, eWeek, and Information Week, shows an impressive growth in SYS-CON's online readership (page views) as compared to these i-technology publishers.

What are Page Views?
According to Alexa.com, page views measure the number of pages viewed by Alexa Toolbar users. Multiple page views of the same page made by the same user on the same day are counted only once. The page views per user numbers are the average numbers of unique pages viewed per user per day by the users visiting the site. The page view rank is a ranking of all sites based solely on the total number of page views (not page views per user). The three-month changes are determined by comparing a site's current page view numbers with those from three month ago.
Page views per million indicates what fraction of all the page views by toolbar users go to a particular site. For example, if yahoo.com has 70,000 page views per million, this means that 7% of all page views go to yahoo.com. If you summed the fractional page views over all sites, you would get 100% (this is not true of reach, since each user can of course visit more than one site).

Alexa "page views" charts printed on August 18, 2005, covering a two-year period, shows TechTarget with the biggest drop in page views. During the same period SYS-CON.com shows the beginnings of a significant jump in readership. Once upon a time, before the Internet, the two top competitors, Ziff Davis' eWeek and CMP's Information Week, also presented interesting trends. While eWeek is displaying a steady online readership (that SYS-CON will likely catch and exceed) consistently bigger than Information Week, Information Week is desperately searching for alternative ways to stay in the game. One of their latest attempts seems to be copying some of the new site features from SYS-CON, including SYS-CON.TV, which debuted in December 2004.
"They immediately took me to a computer monitor and showed me SYS-CON's main page," recalls a job applicant who recently interviewed with CMP. "Check out this SYS-CON.TV thing. This is a big problem. We have to introduce video programs like SYS-CON." CMP's attempts to copy SYS-CON.TV generated some interesting comments in the blogosphere, such as this one; "Blog This! Crazy Looking Videos On The "Information Week" Website."
CMP claims to have 100,000 streams per week. SYS-CON is getting ready with an audited SYS-CON.TV viewership of more than 800,000 per month.

SYS-CON.com will be officially launched in October 2005 with a number of new features which were not introduced during its beta period and the company projects a hands-down global leadership in pages view, rank and reach within six months after its new Website launch. The new SYS-CON.com Website aims to be the CNN and New York Times of the i-technology community. Other tech publishers (like SDTimes) display flat lines for the time being (below).
