RALEIGH, NC -- (Marketwire) -- 09/21/10 -- ShareFile, a leading provider of secure file transfer and full-featured virtual data room solutions that enable companies to exchange large and/or confidential business files, today announced that its technology and services are now being utilized by more than 1.5 million users worldwide. In addition to this milestone, ShareFile has unveiled updates to its popular desktop widget and web-based file sharing solutions with enhanced features and capabilities.

ShareFile's rapid growth and increasing global customer base is not only attributed to the expanding web-based file transfer market, but the company's ability to identify and capitalize on the significant need for specific products and solutions. By focusing exclusively on business users and offering secure, custom branded file transfer and high-touch customer support, the company continues to establish itself as one of the industry's leading business solution providers.

"ShareFile was founded to effectively serve a significant unmet market need for a secure, purpose-built file sharing solution designed specifically for business users," said Jesse Lipson, chief executive officer, ShareFile. "We're continuously looking to our customers for feedback in order to improve our products and deliver the tools and features that will not only meet, but exceed their business needs and expectations. The updates and enhancements made to the desktop widget and web-based file sharing solution are a direct result of the input we received from our growing roster of clients."

Product Updates
ShareFile's web-based solution is a secure tool that allows companies to transfer large business files easily, securely and professionally. The application now has a redesigned user interface that enables business professionals to complete more actions without leaving the page they are viewing, as well as a new menu system that makes advanced features more accessible.

The desktop widget, a Mac/PC/Linux compatible Adobe Air 2.0 application, allows users to drag-and-drop files or entire folders directly into the widget for distribution. Recent updates and enhancements to ShareFile's widget include a newly redesigned user interface, internet disconnection protection for file uploads, keyword searches for files, and the ability to download documents by dragging-and-dropping them directly from the widget to the desktop.
