Vanco Deploys Sun Microsystems' Web Services-Based Java Integration Suite

Web Services-Based Integration To Provide Better End-To-End Service For Network Management Customers

SeeBeyond, a subsidiary of Sun Microsystems, has announced that Vanco plc has selected and deployed the Sun Java Integration Suite to meet its customers’ requirements for tight integration of joint service management functions. With solutions available in 230 countries and territories, Vanco provides strategic network solutions to some of the world's largest organizations. Its clients include Accor Hotels, Avis Europe, British Airways, Ford Motor Company, IBM/Lloyds TSB, Siemens, Pilkington and Virgin Retail.

Formerly branded as the SeeBeyond Integrated Composite Application Network Suite (SeeBeyond ICAN Suite), the Java Integration Suite is being leveraged to provide a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)-based Business Process Management solution. This solution integrates trouble tickets from Vanco’s problem management system with that of Vanco’s customers.

Through this integration platform either party can open trouble tickets on a service managed by Vanco. Updates to these tickets can be entered in either system and the changes are automatically reflected in both systems. A full audit of changes is maintained and any exceptions are automatically processed via appropriate channels to ensure that all tickets are correctly managed.

“Choosing the Java Integration Suite platform allowed us to meet our customer requirements for a fully integrated service management facility,” said David Doherty, Global IT Programme Director of Vanco plc. “SeeBeyond (as a subsidiary of Sun) is providing us with a single development environment for all elements of integration work - from adapter development through to business process mapping, all based on SOA principles and standards.”

“Companies like Vanco are embracing Web services today to provide a more agile and flexible environment to support and grow their businesses,” said Ian Hill, senior vice president and general manager of EMEA for SeeBeyond, a subsidiary of Sun Microsystems. “By utilising the Java Integration Suite, companies like Vanco can deliver an SOA based on a single platform, offering a differentiated service to their customers.”

Vanco will be presenting this solution at the Butler Group Symposium on Business. Through the Vanco network solution clients get access to the greatest geographic coverage available through a single provider. Vanco offers incomparable flexibility to customize and adapt the solution in line with market changes and business priorities.
