VENTURA, Calif., April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- If your idea of cooking on the road is heating hot dogs and beans in a pot over an open fire or scrambling eggs on the cook top of your RV, you need to get the latest one-of-a-kind cookbook designed exclusively for RVers and campers looking for recipes to enjoy while on the road.
Cooking on the Road with Celebrity Chefs was created for adventurous food enthusiasts. Woodall Publications Corporation (Woodall's) teamed up with Anne de Ravel, an independent writer, producer and cookbook author specializing in lifestyle, culinary trends and cooking. For this cookbook, de Ravel has assembled a collection of recipes from some of the top chefs in the country, adapted to cooking on the road or in a small kitchen.
"It's a perfect match," said Joe Daquino, publisher for Woodall's. "Woodall's specialty is the design of print publications to reach different segments of the RV and camping consumer marketplace. When combined with Anne's culinary skills, experience as a food television producer and national journalist, we created this one-of-kind cookbook."
The cookbook highlights 22 chefs who offer their own personal recipes from soups, salads, one-pot stews, delicious desserts and breakfasts for the whole family. Sidebars and tips include short cuts and variations for the recipes, how to prepare and store foods and perishables for an RV trip, and serving suggestions.
"One of the things we discovered is that many people know very little about cooking or even how to prepare for a meal at home, let alone on the road," said Daquino. "This cookbook is packed with great recipes, cooking and preparation tips. It makes gourmet cooking easy to understand because it has to be broken down into components that travel well. Our editor made it a lot of fun to read whether you travel over the road or stay at home to cook."
The RV cookbook features some of the best chefs in the country, from TV personality Chef Harry who cruises in his "rock & roll" bus, to Melissa Perello, executive chef at Fifth Floor restaurant (San Francisco). Zak Pelaccio, chef 5 Ninth and Fatty Crab (New York City), and Jimmy Bannos, chef and owner at Heaven on Seven Restaurants (Chicago) are great examples of the chefs' unique personalities and style in the kitchen and on the road along with how they cope with limited equipment make the cookbook an entertaining read. Readers peek into the chefs' lives while learning some great tricks of the trade along the way.
Cooking on the Road with Celebrity Chefs will appear in bookstores in early May. The retail price is $19.95. The RV cookbook can be purchased on http://www.woodalls.com/
