Schooner Information Technology, Inc., which develops and markets high-availability (HA) high-performance SQL database software for mission-critical applications, today announced two new appointments that will further advance the company’s market and product leadership. Julie Bryce Munro joins Schooner as the senior director of marketing and Pavan Venkatesh joins as the director of product management and strategy.
“Schooner has always valued and attributed our success to the intelligence, ingenuity and creativity of our team, and we recognize the enormous expertise and skill the company gains by welcoming Julie and Pavan,” said Schooner CEO and President, Jerry Rudisin. “Schooner is proving to be the de facto HA solution for solving growing database operational problems such as expanding workloads, 24/7 availability requirements, security and integrity risks, and where 100 percent compatibility with traditional MySQL is important. We look forward to benefitting from Julie and Pavan’s experience as we continue to provide the most highly available and high performing solutions on the market.”
Bryce Munro and Venkatesh both join Schooner from Oracle. Bryce Munro managed product marketing programs in North America for Oracle Exadata as well as global customer services and support for its HA solutions. Prior to Oracle, Bryce Munro spent five years at Red Hat as manager of North America field marketing and manager of global marketing for Red Hat consulting, helping to drive Red Hat’s growth worldwide.
Prior to Schooner, Venkatesh was a member of the technical sales consulting team in MySQL-Oracle for three and a half years, working with close to 300 top web-based, e-commerce, enterprise and embedded customers to successfully implement and deploy MySQL for HA use cases. Before joining the MySQL-Oracle group, Venkatesh was a technical specialist in the Application and Portal server team at Sun Microsystems and also worked as a software developer and analyst at Wipro Technologies.
Rudisin continued, “Both Julie’s experience with global marketing of HA solutions and Pavan’s expertise with MySQL deployments align beautifully with Schooner’s mission, and positions us to deliver our ‘MySQL on steroids’ product to a wider range of customers with the same steadfast results we provide current customers.”
