CloudBees, Inc., the Java Platform as a Service (PaaS) innovation leader, today announced the expansion of the CloudBees Partner Ecosystem by introducing a new Services Partner Program. The CloudBees Services Partner Program gives systems integrators (SIs), web design firms and software development consultants the technology, marketing and sales tools they need to be successful using the CloudBees Platform to provide application development, deployment and consulting services to their customers.
The cloud is changing the way businesses consume information technology. Service providers must transform as well by delivering new offerings to their clients and maximizing the business opportunities of the cloud. With the CloudBees Platform, service providers are empowered to deliver services across the entire application lifecycle, providing the opportunity to deliver more value to clients and more revenue to their firms.
The CloudBees Platform provides a model that offers unique differentiation and competitive benefits to service providers, whether during the development and/or deployment stages of the application lifecycle:
The development services available on [email protected], enable service providers to accelerate application development by gaining immediate access to a fully-provisioned Java platform, including repositories, continuous integration, testing and user acceptance. No waiting to procure hardware and other resources, no hassle to configure the project environment – just start coding.
The runtime services available on [email protected] enable service providers to quickly and easily deploy applications on behalf of their clients and to manage those applications throughout the production phase of their lifecycle. This enables services organizations to extend their value beyond traditional application development-only offerings. With CloudBees, service providers can deliver additional value to their clients by supporting application deployment activities, without having to invest in the IT resources to do so.
The CloudBees Services Partner Program provides:
- PaaS integrator partnership – ideal for service providers who want to use cloud resources for an initial Proof of Concept (POC) and then proceed with the project. With the CloudBees PaaS, service providers can build, deploy, monitor and manage customer applications in the cloud. These partners utilize the [email protected] and [email protected] services throughout the entire application lifecycle.
- Jenkins Enterprise by CloudBees reseller partnership – designed for service providers who also want to resell Jenkins Enterprise by CloudBees. Jenkins Enterprise by CloudBees provides support and enterprise-class plugins for the world’s most popular Continuous Integration server. Jenkins Enterprise by CloudBees is comprised of open source Jenkins, along with additional proprietary plugins and technical support.
“CloudBees' goal is to help our Services Partners achieve new levels of success and improve customer satisfaction through the use of CloudBees technology and their expert services,” said Sacha Labourey, CEO, CloudBees. “In forming the Services Partner Program and recruiting quality service providers to be part of it, we enrich the CloudBees customer experience. CloudBees customers are assured access to knowledgeable, high-quality service providers, making it convenient for them to tap local expertise and resources when needed.”
CloudBees Services Partners include qualified service providers from around the world. The list of founding partners includes:
|Black Diamond||United States|
|Cachet Software||United Kingdom|
“At Black Diamond, we help our customers lower their total cost of development via tooling, SDLC process improvement or outsourced development. Jenkins Enterprise by CloudBees solves a number of critical issues many of our customers face as they seek to create enterprise class CI and build solutions with Jenkins,” said Rich Duncan, President and CTO of Black Diamond Software. “By addressing fault tolerance, scalability, job organization and advanced security, Jenkins Enterprise by CloudBees coupled with enterprise support provides many of the key ingredients customers need to build out an enterprise-class build infrastructure.”
"At Byte-Code we have built our services practice around providing open source solutions to enterprise organizations, and to having that solution be the right mix of technology, process and people," said Davide Panelli, Solutions Architect, Byte-Code. “Aligning ourselves with CloudBees gives us the best of all worlds: exposure to leading technology with the CloudBees PaaS, and the ability for our customers to optimize their agile and scrum processes via Jenkins in the cloud continuous integration and continuous deployment services."
“At Centrum we see a trend emerging of enterprises trying to run projects like start ups. Markets are changing so quickly our clients need to deliver faster to take advantage of opportunities that put them ahead of their competitors,” said Geoff Bullen, co-founder of Centrum Systems. “Unlike startups however, they are faced with hugely complex and integrated systems and processes. In partnership with CloudBees we offer solutions that leapfrog heritage delivery tools and processes. PaaS accelerates project start up and enables continuous delivery. Jenkins Enterprise allows build and release processes to automated and executed much more frequently.”
“At Empower Agile, we are all about agile values and principles," said Danijel Arsenovski, founder, Empower Agile. "Our CloudBees partnership enables us to help organizations quickly adopt agile development processes via the CloudBees PaaS -- a ready-to-go agile platform. Customers can accelerate software projects by fully leveraging continuous integration, testing frequently and early, and deploying applications quickly. PaaS is especially helpful inside a traditional software outsourcing model, where it can help bridge the client-provider gap by enabling quick feedback cycles and establishing a standardized development platform for all providers.”
“We are really pleased to partner with CloudBees,” said Dr. Andreas Wintersteiger, CEO, Objectbay. “Between our expertise in agile software development methodologies and CloudBees’ ability to instantly deliver Jenkins-based development services either on-premise or via the CloudBees platform, we can offer a compelling development-to-deployment solution for our customers in the DACH region.”
“As agile and Java experts, what appealed to us in a CloudBees partnership was the deep technical Java expertise CloudBees offers; it is fully baked into the CloudBees PaaS,” said Antoine Berthelin, Java Team leader, Soat. “Enterprises today develop many mission-critical applications in Java. The ability to drive agile processes deep within an organization in tandem with the instant-on access of Java services from the CloudBees PaaS allows us to provide tremendous value-add for our customers.”

Microservices are a very exciting architectural approach that many organizations are looking to as a way to accelerate innovation. Microservices promise to allow teams to move away from monolithic "ball of mud" systems, but the reality is that, in the vast majority of organizations, different projects and technologies will continue to be developed at different speeds. How to handle the dependencies between these disparate systems with different iteration cycles? Consider the "canoncial problem" ...

DevOps is often described as a combination of technology and culture. Without both, DevOps isn't complete. However, applying the culture to outdated technology is a recipe for disaster; as response times grow and connections between teams are delayed by technology, the culture will die. A Nutanix Enterprise Cloud has many benefits that provide the needed base for a true DevOps paradigm.
