DETROIT, July 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Compuware Corporation today announced that it will conduct a webcast to help IT executives develop and deliver an effective IT strategy for their organizations. This webcast, titled "A Portfolio Approach - The Key to Effective IT Strategy" will take place on Friday, July 21, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. EDT.
"Businesses are relying on IT, today more than ever, to drive innovation and competitive advantage for their organizations," said Larry Angeli, Vice President of Marketing, Compuware Corporation. "Compuware is excited to provide CIOs with this unique opportunity to gain insight into enabling business success."
The webcast will feature Gartner Fellow, Senior Vice President and co- author of "The New CIO Leader," Marianne Broadbent. She will describe the changing role of the CIO leader, how governance strengthens an organization and how an IT portfolio approach helps deliver an effective IT strategy. She will also provide a five-step approach for organizations to select and manage their portfolio of IT initiatives. Dr. Broadbent has a distinguished career in both business and academia with the rare ability to communicate with business leaders about the uses of information technology and with IT executives about business issues.
"The key to an effective IT strategy for many enterprises is to take a portfolio approach. Good decisions about architectures, infrastructure capability, and applications can create an IT portfolio that achieves in total the highest business value across the enterprise," stated Broadbent in her book "The New CIO Leader."
The webcast will also feature Greg Davidson, Compuware Changepoint Product Manager, who will present an integrated IT portfolio management solution that allows organizations to realize the benefits of the five-step approach.
