"Power Panel" at AJAXWorld 2006 Tomorrow Will Ask "Does AJAX Push the Browser Too Far?"

Panelists Include the Father of DHTML and the Creator of the Term "AJAX"

The lightweight AJAX programming model has taken the PC browser market by storm. This panel, moderated by AJAXWorld 2006 Conference Chair Jeremy Geelan and with panelists including both the Father of DHTML (pictured) and the Creator of the Term "AJAX," will look at the totality of its impact and at the impact of Rich Internet Applications as a whole.

Participants:

Scott Isaacs, Microsoft
Bob Brewin, Sun
Jesse James Garrett, Adaptive Path
Jeremy Chone, Adobe
Coach Wei, Nexaweb

Questions asked and answered will include:

  • AJAX isn't really anything new - yesterday's technology rediscovered - so why all the hype?
  • Will AJAX technologies have as much impact on mobile devices as they're having on the desktop?
  • How about AJAX on gaming consoles like the Nintendo Wii or Sony's PS3?
  • If a database like Apache Derby could be embedded into a browser, would AJAX be able to run offline?
  • Should we all forget about AJAX and concentrate instead on "Web 2.0"?
