I Live Here, I Give Here's Amplify Austin Raises $2,796,151 in 24 Hours

A total of more than $2,796,151 will Benefit Central Texas nonprofits

AUSTIN, Texas, March 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- It's being called the biggest single day of charitable giving in Central Texas history. More than 20,000 donations—totaling more than $2,796,151—were made to more than 300 Central Texas nonprofits in 24 hours during I Live Here, I Give Here's first annual Amplify Austin day, which began at 7 p.m. on March 4 and ended at 7 p.m. on March 5, 2013.

"Amplify Austin is a new program of I Live Here, I Give Here®, and our inaugural goal was $1 million, which we nearly tripled," said CEO and Founder of I Live Here, I Give Here, Patsy Woods Martin. "But this $2,796,151 is a testament to the passion our community has for our nonprofits and our shared desire to give where we live and become number one on the most GIVING city list, as well."

A "stretch pool" of an additional $160,000 was provided by Amplify Austin sponsors, University Federal Credit Union ($100K) and Austin Community Foundation ($60K), bringing the total amount raised to more than $2,796,151. The stretch pool will be distributed to more than 300 nonprofits that received donations during Amplify Austin. Each nonprofit will receive a portion of the stretch pool on a pro rata basis based on the total amount of their Amplify Austin donations.

"With more than 20,000 individual donations, the people of Central Texas proved that they are both generous and dedicated to improving our community," said Tony Budet, CEO of University Federal Credit Union. "It's an honor to be a part of something that will truly make a difference in this place we call home."

Each of the participating nonprofits received at least one gift through AmplifyATX.org.

In addition to the $2,796,151, employees of Samsung, Applied Materials and Dell made Amplify Austin gifts using their corporate giving tools. These numbers have not been reported at this time.

To stay true to our live music roots, throughout the day, randomly selected donors won impromptu serenades from some of the city's most cherished singer/songwriters. Although only a handful of people won the in-person performances, everyone who donated received an e-tribute from Austin's own, Kat Edmondson.

Amplify Austin attracted gifts from 48 states, 4 U.S. territories and 13 foreign countries.

Digital Transformation is much more than a buzzword. The radical shift to digital mechanisms for almost every process is evident across all industries and verticals. This is often especially true in financial services, where the legacy environment is many times unable to keep up with the rapidly shifting demands of the consumer. The constant pressure to provide complete, omnichannel delivery of customer-facing solutions to meet both regulatory and customer demands is putting enormous pressure on...
IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. Unfortunately, this inevitably makes IoT less approachable for people to get started with and can hamper efforts to integrate this key technology into your own portfolio. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...
The standardization of container runtimes and images has sparked the creation of an almost overwhelming number of new open source projects that build on and otherwise work with these specifications. Of course, there's Kubernetes, which orchestrates and manages collections of containers. It was one of the first and best-known examples of projects that make containers truly useful for production use. However, more recently, the container ecosystem has truly exploded. To Really Work for Enterprises, MultiCloud Adoption Requires Far Better and Inclusive Cloud Monitoring and Cost Management … But How? Overwhelmingly, even as enterprises have adopted cloud computing and are expanding to multi-cloud computing, IT leaders remain concerned about how to monitor, manage and control costs across hybrid and multi-cloud deployments.
