Security Innovation, a leader in application security assessment and training, announced today that its TeamProfessor application security eLearning platform is now available to HP Fortify clients. Global organizations will have access to TeamProfessor through technology-specific and role-based curricula to help them meet their growing security requirements.
To meet an accelerating demand for end-to-end application security training, HP clients will have access to eight curriculum bundles, drawn from Security Innovation’s extensive library of eLearning titles. This prescriptive approach to training is designed to dramatically improve the capabilities of organizations to more effectively build secure software applications. The objective of implementing this training is to equip developers with the most current techniques, tool and best practices for specific development organization roles.
“As attackers pose an increasingly difficult challenge to the enterprise, the United States government has taken note and put forth an executive order to counter cyber threats,” said Ed Adams, CEO, Security Innovation. “Mitigating security risk means training employees about security in general, as well as how to write software that is not vulnerable to exploit. TeamProfessor provides this prescriptive approach and we look forward to extending our platform to HP Fortify clients.”
Further punctuating the need for secure development training and controls, the Ponemon Institute published a report citing that:
- Two-thirds of developers experienced between 1-10 data breaches over the past 24 months.
- 85% of developers felt their applications did not meet compliance requirements.
- 80% have no formalized process for building security into their software.1
The HP Fortify eLearning bundles expand upon existing offerings and will deliver structured, role-based curricula to train software architects, developers, project managers, and Test and QA personnel. Each curriculum is designed to build skills, confidence and provide the latest knowledge on secure coding techniques and industry best practices on specific technologies, including C/C++, .NET, Java, PHP and Mobile Development.
“As an increasing number of organizations begin to establish Software Security Assurance programs, the demand for high-quality training programs has increased,” said Bruce Jenkins, program manager, Learning and Development, Enterprise Security Products, HP. “Security Innovation’s TeamProfessor eLearning courses help our clients to further reduce application security risk by improving secure development skills and enhancing the value derived from HP Fortify products.”
