WWPass Corp. to Debut PassKey Version 2.0 at CARTES 2013

WWPass, today announced the release of PassKey 2.0, the physical element that supports the WWPass multi-factor authentication solution. Now with support of NFC and USB connectivity, users have the choice to engage the Passkey by inserting into a USB drive or by placing the PassKey on a NFC reader. In addition, a sleeker form factor makes the PassKey more comfortable to be stowed and carried on a keyring or badge lanyard. This convenience further lends to the ubiquitous nature of the WWPass solution where one PassKey can be used with many WWPass enabled applications and websites.

The WWPass PassKey eliminates the antiquated and vulnerable username/password pair by replacing traditional credentials with a convenient two factor authentication process. Within the physical Passkey is a tamper-resistant and highly secure element that consists of a Java Applet and unique character string, which is automatically and uniquely generated by the WWPass Data Center and stored on the PassKey at initialization. This sets off an authentication process in which WWPass validates the user, application and WWPass itself. In micro-seconds, users are ensured a secure connection and experience. No information is stored on the PassKey. Rather, meta-data and certificates are encrypted, fragmented and dispersed in multiple WWPass datacenters. Only when the PassKey is engaged can the information be retrieved and applied.

Fully managed by the user, the PassKey empowers users to authenticate into all WWPass enabled sites and applications without compromising or sharing data. This not only protects user privacy it also secures corporate assets against unauthenticated breach. Users can also enjoy the Security Pack that comes bundled with the PassKey that provides PassKey holders with a console to manager certificates, secure email (Thunderbird), cloud storage, secure VPN (OpenVPN) and a journal application for personal use.

WWPass will be demonstrating PassKey ver. 2.0 in booth no. 729 at the upcoming CARTES 2013 Conference and Exhibition, April 23 – 25 at the Mirage Hotel and Convention Center in Las Vegas. To schedule a meeting please contact Bill Dixon, Director of Sales at [email protected].
