ProactiveNet to Showcase Flagship BSM Solution at Upcoming CAMP IT Conference

ProactiveNet Will Also Moderate Panel Discussion: "How to Effectively Communicate the Value of Network Performance to Enterprise

SANTA CLARA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 08/30/06 -- ProactiveNet Inc., the time-to-value leader in Business Services Management (BSM), today announced it will showcase its flagship software solution at the upcoming CAMP IT Conference at the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois on September 7. In addition, ProactiveNet will moderate a panel session titled, "How to Effectively Communicate the Value of Network Performance to Enterprise Executives." The panel, which will include participants from Electro-Motive Diesels, CDW, and other enterprise IT organizations, will be held from 4:00-5:00 p.m. The conference, exhibit booths and all presentations will be located in Convention Center rooms 32-34.

CAMP holds several events a year, each with a unique focus on current trends that matter most to managerial and executive-level audiences. The focus of the September 7 conference is Managing Network Performance & Availability. The day's sessions intertwine business and IT requirements, and address challenges network managers face including performance and availability, capacity planning, and service level management issues. For a complete agenda, including session abstracts, please visit www.campconferences.com/events/2006/networkperformance.

ProactiveNet, which recently announced version 7.0 of its namesake BSM solution, is a sponsor of the event and will have a booth available to meet with attendees and demonstrate its software. ProactiveNet works by automatically learning the normal operating behavior of a company's end-to-end IT infrastructure environment, and provides early warning when a performance attribute is outside of its normal range but has not yet affected service delivery. This preemptive problem identification, combined with the product's ease-of-use and automated management features, enables enterprise IT organizations to achieve value quickly while optimizing the service experience for their end users and partners.

In addition, ProactiveNet's patented service analytics technology provides the unique ability to link SLAs, and other business-related performance data, directly to the performance of the IT infrastructure in real-time. This capability helps IT operations and business unit owners see how IT services are affecting the business, and helps them allocate staff and technology resources more efficiently.

"CAMP IT Conferences deliver events that address the trends that are top-of-mind with enterprise IT organizations," said David Langlais, vice president of marketing at ProactiveNet. "We're looking forward to the exchange of ideas and experiences that will undoubtedly occur as a result of this conference and its many well-defined sessions."

The challenges of aggregating data from consumer-oriented devices, such as wearable technologies and smart thermostats, are fairly well-understood. However, there are a new set of challenges for IoT devices that generate megabytes or gigabytes of data per second. Certainly, the infrastructure will have to change, as those volumes of data will likely overwhelm the available bandwidth for aggregating the data into a central repository. Ochandarena discusses a whole new way to think about your next...

Cell networks have the advantage of long-range communications, reaching an estimated 90% of the world. But cell networks such as 2G, 3G and LTE consume lots of power and were designed for connecting people. They are not optimized for low- or battery-powered devices or for IoT applications with infrequently transmitted data. Cell IoT modules that support narrow-band IoT and 4G cell networks will enable cell connectivity, device management, and app enablement for low-power wide-area network IoT. B...

When talking IoT we often focus on the devices, the sensors, the hardware itself. The new smart appliances, the new smart or self-driving cars (which are amalgamations of many ‘things'). When we are looking at the world of IoT, we should take a step back, look at the big picture. What value are these devices providing. IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...
