CloudMonkey Mobile Releases 2.0 Beta Version of MonkeyTalk Platform

CloudMonkey Mobile, maker of the world’s best mobile app testing solutions, today announces the release of version 2.0 of the MonkeyTalk mobile app testing platform. MonkeyTalk 2.0 is being offered in two different editions: the free and open source Community Edition; and the Professional Edition, a commercial tool which extends the MonkeyTalk platform with additional capabilities for streamlining mobile app testing.

Downloaded some 70,000 times to-date, the open source MonkeyTalk platform has become indispensible to mobile app testers worldwide.

MonkeyTalk 2.0 Professional Edition

The new, Professional Edition includes all the script creation and execution features of the open source Community Edition, and adds these powerful capabilities:

  • Dynamically instruments your app at run-time, eliminating the need for source code or recompilation
  • Automatically installs, launches, restarts, stops, or uninstalls your app, making it easier to manage interactive or unattended testing
  • Runs scripts spanning multiple devices (for example, a chat conversation)
  • Simplifies scripting with an advanced command editor for intelligent assistance
  • Allows application restart as part of a test scenario
  • Provides full details of your test with extended reporting
  • Includes a built-in emulator--no need to configure your own
  • Makes it easy to work with linked-in libraries and subprojects
  • Includes technical support from CloudMonkey Mobile

The new, MonkeyTalk 2.0 Community Edition features an upgraded IDE, support for global variables, a scripting API for Java, and many enhancements.

“MonkeyTalk 2.0 is the exciting next step in MonkeyTalk’s evolution. With the Professional Edition, we’re extending the MonkeyTalk product family with a simpler, more powerful option to satisfy the needs of the most demanding mobile app teams,” said Stu Stern, CEO of CloudMonkey Mobile.

MonkeyTalk 2.0 Professional Edition will be offered at the special introductory price of $495 beginning this April. The beta version is free and available now for download at https://www.cloudmonkeymobile.com/monkeytalk. The free and open source MonkeyTalk 2.0 Community Edition is also immediately available.
