H2O AND CLOUDERA TEAM UP TO DELIVER THE WORLD’S FASTEST IN-MEMORY PREDICTIVE ANALYTICS

Customers can now leverage big data to discover insights on customer behavior, pricing optimization and more

H2O (www.h2o.ai), the open source in-memory machine learning and predictive analytics company for big data, today announced a partnership with Cloudera, the leader in enterprise data management powered by Apache™ Hadoop. Through this collaboration, companies that use Cloudera’s Enterprise editions can deploy H2O’s open source software on existing Hadoop clusters without the need for data transfers. Leveraging Cloudera’s leadership and expertise in open source and big data infrastructure, H2O will enable enterprises to perform big data analysis in-memory at speeds up to 100x faster than other predictive analytics providers as a result of being able to combine batch, interactive, and streaming jobs in the same application.

“H2O is pushing the boundaries of Hadoop and bringing data science to the masses by creating an easy to use, seamless experience for the user,” said Tim Stevens, vice president, Business and Corporate Development, Cloudera. “The joint solution expands the use cases for our customers by enabling customers to run predictive models across massive datasets at in-memory speeds.”

“Early customer traction at a number of insurance and media companies are paving the way for widespread adoption,” said SriSatish Ambati, CEO and co-founder of H2O. “H2O on Cloudera’s enterprise data hub (EDH) brings the predictive power of big data to data scientists using familiar interfaces of R, Scala, JavaScript, Java and Python.”

The key to H2O’s interactive performance is its fast in-memory parallel processing—never before have state-of-art algorithms been distributed at these speeds.

Cloudera users can take advantage of having a seamless workflow and unified management of predictive analytics within Cloudera Manager and Cloudera Navigator.

A vibrant community of data scientists, systems and language enthusiasts has built up quickly around a shared interest in H2O. H2O has sponsored or participated in 45 data science meet-ups over the past nine months. For more information on upcoming H2O meet-ups, please visit http://0xdata.com/events/ or join the movement at http://0xdata.com/h2o-2/community/

About H2O

H2O brings better algorithms to big data. H2O is a fast open source in-memory prediction engine and machine learning platform. With H2O enterprises can use all of their data (instead of sampling) in real-time for better predictions. Users can model data quickly and make better data-driven decisions faster by running advanced algorithms such as Deep Learning, Classification, Regression, Decision Trees, Forests, Gradient Boosting, GLM, PCA and more. Data Scientists can take both simple & sophisticated models to production from the same interactive platform used for modeling within R and JSON.

Our earliest customers have built powerful domain specific predictive engines for Recommendations, Pricing, Outlier Detection and Fraud Prediction for Insurance and Ad Platforms. H2O is nurturing a grassroots movement of math, systems and data scientists to herald the new wave of Discovery with Big Data Science. H2O is on CRN’s 10 Coolest Big Data Products of 2013 and is a Silicon Valley startup backed by Nexus Venture Partners and other leading angel investors in big data. www.h2o.ai

If a machine can invent, does this mean the end of the patent system as we know it? The patent system, both in the US and Europe, allows companies to protect their inventions and helps foster innovation. However, Artificial Intelligence (AI) could be set to disrupt the patent system as we know it. This talk will examine how AI may change the patent landscape in the years to come. Furthermore, ways in which companies can best protect their AI related inventions will be examined from both a US and...

When talking IoT we often focus on the devices, the sensors, the hardware itself. The new smart appliances, the new smart or self-driving cars (which are amalgamations of many ‘things'). When we are looking at the world of IoT, we should take a step back, look at the big picture. What value are these devices providing. IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...
