Foodler Appoints Michael Vosseller to Head of Mobile Development

Foodler, the online food ordering service that connects consumers with the widest variety of restaurants for immediate delivery, today announced its appointment of Michael Vosseller as Director of Mobile Development. Vosseller brings over 15 years of software development experience to lead all Foodler iOS and Android development efforts. Foodler’s mobile apps enable quick and easy ordering from a wide variety of local restaurants based on a users’ location and cuisine preferences.

Prior to Foodler, Vosseller served as an iOS Software Architect at MA-based travel search engine KAYAK. There, he helped build KAYAK’s popular mobile app, which is the #1 Travel App in the Apple App Store and was ultimately placed in Apple’s App Store Hall of Fame. Most recently, Vosseller lead the update of Foodler’s existing iOS app, which introduced the ability to re-order favorite meals and the ability to capture credit card payment information via the camera.

“I’m looking forward to pushing the Foodler mobile experience to the next level,” said Vosseller. “We have big plans in store that will help our customers discover new dishes and make their mobile food ordering experience intuitive and convenient.”

Foodler enables people to order the food they love when and where they want it, all within a simple, streamlined mobile interface accessible from almost any smartphone. Foodler’s popular web and mobile “Best Bets” feature prioritizes food options by individual tastes and past orders, so that people can make informed choices on specific dishes via Foodler’s user-generated, 5-star rating system. Over time, Foodler apps learn each person’s unique preferences and are able to make insightful recommendations on the dishes and restaurants they may enjoy. Foodler users also have the ability to earn points that can be redeemed for free food, merchandise, gift cards, and more, whenever they make a web or mobile purchase.

“We’re thrilled to have Vosseller lead our growing mobile team,” said Foodler Founder and CEO Christian Dumontet. “Vosseller’s track record of success in the mobile space is impressive, as KAYAK’S mobile app is widely acclaimed for its ease of use and extensive functionality. Foodler is committed to becoming the leader in mobile food delivery and we believe we have a great foundation in place for Vosseller to take our iOS and Android apps to the next level.”

Foodler offers service in more than 3,000 cities across 48 states in the US, and recently expanded to Vancouver, Canada. The Foodler iOS and Android apps geo-locate users and offer food options that are available to them at that place and time. Menu exploration, food ordering – including custom orders – and payment require just a few swipes and taps on virtually any smartphone. Those new to Foodler need only to create an account with basic information; existing customers simply log-in and their account info and past orders are immediately available.
