Redpill Linpro to Offer the Formtek Engineering Data Management Solution for Alfresco in Scandinavia

CONCORD, Calif., Feb. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Formtek, Inc., a leading provider of document and content management software and services, announced today that it has signed a Partnership Agreement with Redpill Linpro, Scandinavia's largest Open Source Company.

Redpill Linpro is the leading provider of the Alfresco® open platform for business critical content management and collaboration in the Nordic region. Formtek is a US-based Alfresco Systems Integration Partner, and the developer of the Formtek® Software Extensions for Alfresco and the Formtek Engineering Data Management (EDM) Solution for Alfresco.

Through the partnership with Redpill Linpro, Formtek's software will be made available for Scandinavian users of Alfresco. Redpill Linpro's first implementation of the Formtek EDM Solution will be for Svenska kraftnät, a state-owned public utility in Sweden.

"The partnership with Formtek is a strategic initiative to further increase the capabilities of Alfresco and the Alfresco based solutions we are delivering to our Scandinavian customers," said Fredrik Svensson, Business Area Manager for Java Solutions within Redpill Linpro. "This is another example on how the Open Source community and ecosystem can be used to make state of the art global solutions available for local Scandinavian organizations. The Formtek extensions will first be used in our Alfresco implementation project for Svenska kraftnät to enable easy integration between the document management solution and technical AutoCAD drawings. We have also initiated discussions with other organizations that are interested in using the same functionality to gain control over their technical documentation and increase collaboration between internal and external project members."

"Formtek has a long history of developing and implementing document and content management solutions that improve efficiency and collaboration for technical and engineering-driven organizations," said Victor Malespina, VP Sales at Formtek. "We are very pleased to have the opportunity to partner with Redpill Linpro, and to be able to deliver these capabilities to the Scandinavian market."

"The Striim platform is a full end-to-end streaming integration and analytics platform that is middleware that covers a lot of different use cases," explained Steve Wilkes, Founder and CTO at Striim, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at 20th Cloud Expo, held June 6-8, 2017, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY.
The deluge of IoT sensor data collected from connected devices and the powerful AI required to make that data actionable are giving rise to a hybrid ecosystem in which cloud, on-prem and edge processes become interweaved. Attendees will learn how emerging composable infrastructure solutions deliver the adaptive architecture needed to manage this new data reality. Machine learning algorithms can better anticipate data storms and automate resources to support surges, including fully scalable GPU-c...
Predicting the future has never been more challenging - not because of the lack of data but because of the flood of ungoverned and risk laden information. Microsoft states that 2.5 exabytes of data are created every day. Expectations and reliance on data are being pushed to the limits, as demands around hybrid options continue to grow.

The explosion of new web/cloud/IoT-based applications and the data they generate are transforming our world right before our eyes. In this rush to adopt these new technologies, organizations are often ignoring fundamental questions concerning who owns the data and failing to ask for permission to conduct invasive surveillance of their customers. Organizations that are not transparent about how their systems gather data telemetry without offering shared data ownership risk product rejection, regu...

When talking IoT we often focus on the devices, the sensors, the hardware itself. The new smart appliances, the new smart or self-driving cars (which are amalgamations of many ‘things'). When we are looking at the world of IoT, we should take a step back, look at the big picture. What value are these devices providing. IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...
Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...
