PlanetIcon, an internet marketing and software development firm, just released BookCoverPro (www.bookcoverpro.com), a customized software program that allows self-publishers, book publishers and graphic designers create and customize their own unique and professional quality book covers for print, without experience or the use of high-cost design programs.
Along with a team of professional programmers, owner Angela Donelle (Doni) Underwood developed BookCoverPro as a direct solution for her existing TemplatesCollective (www.templatescollective.com) clients and for self-publishers in general to have more control over their book's cover design without breaking budget. BookCoverPro functions and was designed specifically as a full-service book cover design program, featuring several key elements for creating professional quality cover design, like accurate sizing and trim area measurement, accurate spine width calculation, optional jacket flaps, an ISBN barcode generator, font styles and effects, image and element placement, color guides, a gallery of background images, templates, and more. Very easy to learn and apply. Files can be saved in the native .bcv format for later editing, and the final files are generated to a high-res (300 dpi) .pdf image to meet book printer specifications.
All BookCoverPro customers receive free access to a full library of background images and templates, free upgrades, and a private forum where they can network, share and receive advice, troubleshoot, and showcase their work.
The free affiliate program can earn the affiliate 30% of each referred sale. No purchase is necessary.
BookCoverPro is compatible with both Windows and Mac and uses the latest Java technology, which can be downloaded for free at java.com; or apple.com/support/java. Minimum requirements: 256MB RAM; 4 MB hard space.
BookCoverPro, $197, PlanetIcon Software. Non-profit organizations receive a discounted cost
