Jinfonet Software Featured on Gartner Magic Quadrant Report

ROCKVILLE, MD -- (Marketwired) -- 04/01/14 -- Jinfonet Software, the leading provider in embedded visualization and reporting solutions through its JReport product suite, was featured in the latest Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics Platforms report published by Gartner Research in February 2014. Jinfonet had to meet strict corporate and product requirements in order to be included in the Magic Quadrant report. Most notably, JReport ranked highly in several of the report's vendor capabilities including reporting, dashboards, ad hoc report/query, Microsoft Office integration, interactive visualization, OLAP, BI infrastructure and administration, metadata management, business user data mashup and modeling, development tools, embeddable analytics, and support for big data sources.

Gartner's Magic Quadrant report stated: "Jinfonet Software is a U.S.-based company, founded in 1998, that delivers JReport -- a Java-based BI platform, originally developed for embedding in third-party applications by OEMs. Over time, the product has evolved into a general-purpose platform intended for use by end-user companies. It is also optimized to be scalable and fault-tolerant. The current version (JReport 12) features improvements to dashboards, interactive visualization and mobile capabilities, and support for big data sources -- MongoDB, Hadoop through Hive, and Amazon Redshift. Jinfonet's product strengths are its embedding capability, through its customizable architecture for integration with host applications, and a high-performance reporting engine (JReport)."

In addition, Jinfonet received strong customer survey responses, which highlight stellar customer satisfaction and adoption of JReport as their primary reporting and analysis solution. Gartner considers customer feedback as one of the most important evaluation criteria and mentioned, "Jinfonet had strong customer participation in the associated survey, with over 45 responses," where the requirement was only 30 survey responses.

A free trial of JReport 12 is now generally available. To request a customized demo or participate in the Beta program for upcoming product releases, please contact [email protected] or call (240) 477-1000. You can also view our Daily Live Demos every weekday at 2pm Eastern.

When Enterprises started adopting Hadoop-based Big Data environments over the last ten years, they were mainly on-premise deployments. Organizations would spin up and manage large Hadoop clusters, where they would funnel exabytes or petabytes of unstructured data. However, over the last few years the economics of maintaining this enormous infrastructure compared with the elastic scalability of viable cloud options has changed this equation. The growth of cloud storage, cloud-managed big data e...
