InfoSpace Announces Free Trial of J2ME Solution Find It!

InfoSpace Find It! Combines Eyes-Free Spoken Directions and Simple-to-Use GPS Functionality

As the Kelsey Group’s Interactive Local Media Conference kicked off in Philadelphia, InfoSpace announced the availability of a 60-day free trial of their enhanced mobile local search product InfoSpace Find It! for mobile customers with select handsets. The new InfoSpace Find It! combines eyes-free spoken directions and simple-to-use GPS functionality with the convenience of local search to quickly and easily locate the nearest businesses, people and events.

Using just a few clicks, InfoSpace Find It! can automatically pinpoint a user’s location and identify nearby movie theaters, choose a film, pick a show time, find a nearby ATM or restaurant and get directions—all via a mobile phone.

"InfoSpace is focused on customer satisfaction and delivering the most user-friendly mobile local search application possible," said Rod Diefendorf, vice president of online and local search, who will be speaking at the Kelsey Conference on November 30. “The free trial gives us the opportunity to show more mobile consumers how they can get all the local information they need in one place with the convenience of spoken directions and unsurpassed listings information.”

"Offering InfoSpace Find It! free for a period of time is an essential step for InfoSpace to begin building user adoption and drive frequency of use. Once users get accustomed to using InfoSpace Find It!, an interesting revenue model may evolve drawing subscription money from consumers and advertising revenue – both fixed and performance based - from advertisers," said Neal Polachek, senior vice president at The Kelsey Group.

As a premium Java (J2ME) application, InfoSpace Find It! distills millions of listings into six categories tailored to the on-the-go user – Dine Out, Go Out, Shop, Travel, Health and Services. This mobile version also offers the same local search power and relevancy as the online product available, at www.infospacefindit.com. With this convergence from mobile to Web, InfoSpace Find It! users now have greater access to deeper listings and more information whether they’re online or on the go. The service includes features such as:

Spoken Turn-by-Turn Directions: Eyes-free navigation with spoken directions allows users to get where they are going without having to look at the screen.

Expanded Content Library: Now find nearby events, Wi-Fi hotspots, local entertainment, golf courses and more than 15 million other points of interest.

Refreshed Listings: Content is refreshed weekly. Movies and events are up to date. Outdated listings are removed to keep the data as relevant and useful as possible.

What's Nearby: Access details on what's close with one click on the phone, even if the caller doesn't know exactly where they are.

Find People by Name or Number: Search using only first and last name, or by entering a phone number to find out to whom it belongs.

One-Stop Searching: A single search location for Yellow Pages, White Pages, Maps, Directions, Movie Listings and more.

Local Quick Clicks: Find local business listings and locations with maps and driving directions with minimal clicking.

Click to Connect: Make phone calls with one click instead of dialing the entire number. The initial version of InfoSpace Find It! launched in March 2006 as the first comprehensive location-based service application for mobile phones. The application quickly distinguished itself for its ease of use, accurate listings and low subscription cost of $2.99 a month.

InfoSpace Find It! continues to make relevant results to the user the top priority. In addition to pinpointing a user's location through automated GPS or location systems, zip code, address, intersection, or preset entries, the product takes into account user preferences to deliver the most useful results in the fewest number of clicks. Additionally, InfoSpace Find It! uses its advertising relationships to provide users with enhanced merchant information, such as hours of operation.

Mobile subscribers with select phones can download the 60-day free trial directly from their handsets. More information about InfoSpace Find It! and the free trial can be found at http://www.mobile.infospacefindit.com/whatsnew.aspx.
