Continental Software Services Selects TD Mobile from Gupta Technologies to Build Mobile App that Integrates with Device GPS

Gupta Technologies, a global provider of application development, database and migration software, today announced Continental Software Services’ (CSS) successful use of TD Mobile to add mobile solutions to its application portfolio. CSS built a mobile application using TD Mobile to integrate backend data from a corporate freight system with the GPS feature of the phone, enabling up-to-the-minute information on delivery times and locations.

CSS develops transportation related applications for customers with operations throughout Europe and North Africa. Its client needed a mobile application that supported native GPS on the phone to address the growing problem of congested roads impacting delivery schedules and routes. CSS used TD Mobile to quickly build an application accessible by any smart phone that enables the store to monitor the truck’s location and provide updates on estimated arrival time based on the delivery vehicle’s location.

“With increasing traffic congestion, actual delivery times were difficult to predict accurately,” said Edward Forrest, CEO of Continental Software Services Ltd. “We were impressed with the ease and speed at which we were able to develop the app with TD Mobile and the simplicity of connecting the data from our core ‘QFreight’ system with the location tracking GPS features of the device. Our client was able to monitor deliveries and times due at its locations, which greatly enhanced its customer service and satisfaction.”

CSS has plans to use TD Mobile to extend the app to allow the store to record merchandise damages or incorrect product shipments using photos, which would sync to a back-end incident reporting system. TD Mobile enables CSS to grow its business by providing cost-effective mobile applications to its customers.

TD Mobile is a single, complete development solution for building HTML5 web applications for iOS, Android, Windows and Mac from one source code. Developers around the world use TD mobile because it unifies the technologies required—HTML/CSS/JavaScript Java/.NET, web services, JSON, JQuery and more—in one system for building and deploying mobile apps. By simplifying development, the time and cost for delivering mobile solutions is significantly reduced.

“TD Mobile shines at integrating features on the device including camera, GPS, e-signature, and bar code scanning with the UI and backend data sources,” said Frank Verardi, Vice President and General Manager of Gupta Technologies. “While native app development easily integrates device features, it takes more time and expertise to deliver that functionality for multiple OSs and devices. TD Mobile delivers a native app experience with the advantage of mobile web app development for running on any platform and device.”

Availability: TD Mobile is now available. A 30 day trial is available for download from www.guptatechnologies.com.
