Cloud Veteran GoodData to Cover Data Discovery and Data Governance in the Cloud at Cloud Expo

GoodData on Thursday announced Vice President of Product Marketing, Jeff Morris, will be speaking at Cloud Expo on June 10, at the Javits Center in New York City. As a Bronze Sponsor of the conference, GoodData will share insight on best practices for business intelligence and data governance.

Jeff Morris will discuss "Data Governance and Data Discovery" during the Big Data and Analytics track on Day 1 of the conference. The panel will take place on the expo floor of the Demo Theater booth and will be streamed live on GoodData's website and recorded for on-demand viewing.

Jeff Morris session details:

Data Governance and Data Discovery - June 10, 4:00 - 4:35 pm
Most companies only analyze subsets of their business data and fragmented data in several places - there is nothing "big" about that. By freeing IT time and resources, the process of analyzing your data can be streamlined, ensuring that all the data is in the system, complete, and available. With the operations, implementation, and data management outsourced and IT teams being used as dedicated shepherds of data into and out of the system, executives get the smartest data at their fingertips.

Business Intelligence is a huge market. It is more important than ever to understand that projects are still built by small teams of BI specialists. The future - and to a great extent uncharted territory - is generated BI applications. With hundreds of applications, each of them is slightly different. We have already seen this happening in different parts of the IT industry. We have witnessed what has happened to operations, even in small teams, and their ability to command large IT infrastructures with hundreds of machines. Can we learn from looking at what approaches worked and what tools were adopted, and then do something similar for analytics?

"The mission of Cloud Expo aligns with GoodData's commitment to eliminating cost and complexity," says GoodData founder and CEO Roman Stanek. "We are excited to share our customers' success and demonstrate how companies can become 'all data enterprises' using data from any source to gain a competitive advantage."

Serving more than 40,000 companies and 130,000 users worldwide, GoodData supports a variety of customers in a broad range of market sectors, including technology, digital media, retail and ecommerce, travel, and professional services. The company recently announced its end-to-end Open Analytics Platform, a complete data governance and discovery platform-as-a-service that manages every aspect of modern business intelligence, from big data management to visual analysis. More details on GoodData's Open Analytics Platform can be found here.

Recent IDC research predicts that the volume of enterprise data overall will increase by 650 percent over the next five years. Cloud Expo therefore aims to bring the best IT minds together to discuss the most significant trends of the year: Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Big Data and DevOps through "Power Panels" as well as an Expo floor with two Demo Theaters. Attendees can expect to be hands-on with solutions and offerings, and talk one-on-one with the top Cloud, IoT, Big Data and DevOps leaders to learn how their solutions can benefit attendees' organizations.
