How Mobile and Cloud Are Transforming Industry in a Human-Centric Way

Change is constant, and over the last decade the nexus of two trends in particular has transformed the enterprise. Mobile technology and cloud software are fundamentally changing the way we interact internally within businesses, and externally with partners and customers.

Never before have workers enjoyed such freedom and flexibility. The days of being tied to a desk, manning a landline, are gone. Distributed teams can collaborate easily via virtual workplaces. Mobile technology provides access to the business world from any location and the cloud delivers the necessary data and software.

The shift from physical to virtual brings real business agility through the flexibility and scalability of cloud solutions. Smartphones, tablets, and wearables are empowering staff, freeing them from the office, boosting productivity and efficiency, and delivering a better service for customers.

Linking Mobile Devices and Centralized Data
This workplace transformation is a major change. People can work from anywhere and they can use a range of different devices to access company systems. Mobile devices are gateways to the centralized data that is the beating heart of business value, but you need a software layer to access that data securely and efficiently. Smartphones may encourage round-the-clock collaboration, but you need software to ensure that your communications are productive.

Mobile hardware at the front and Big Data behind the scenes help make this possible, but software defines the experience. It is the glue that holds everything together.

To reinvent the workplace as a cloud-based collaborative, communicative, and productive environment you need solutions supported by a properly balance serviced organization. The Citrix software-defined workplace provides an infrastructure that connects people with the apps and services they need and ensures that data can be shared securely. Fujitsu embraces this approach and underpins the technology and business transformation to achieve these expected outputs. One example is the "Human-centric Internet of Things," a widely used platform where vendors can verify technologies that can be used by customers when creating new business models, with the aim of forming a global ecosystem.

A single solution reduces the overhead associated with integrating a disparate range of software and hardware. Everyone can plug into a single workflow, giving management the necessary oversight. Ultimately this is about leveraging the transformative power of mobile technology and the cloud by enabling IT and freeing employees to use the devices, apps, and services they really want.

Mobile and Cloud Synergy
It's about much more than cutting employees loose from the desk or office. It goes beyond enabling distributed teams around the globe to collaborate. We're only just starting to see the potential power of mobile technology driven by the cloud.

Smartphones and tablets are already tracking employees in the field and delivering vital data to their fingertips in a wide range of industries. Wearables like smart glasses will take things to the next level. Imagine the additional safety and convenience of hands-free operation putting the data people need in their field of view directly.

There's no need for sales staff to leave a customer and access a computer. There's no need for a delivery driver or a warehouse worker to fumble for a tablet or terminal as they juggle a package. There's no need for the CEO to refer to his notes or memorize current company statistics for a presentation.

A Solid Software Foundation
The hardware brings us the technical ability, but it is a software-defined experience. Just as the app revolution extended the usefulness and desirability of smartphones for consumers, so it is beginning to transform the enterprise. The BYOD experience is prompting businesses to adopt wearables earlier and leverage them for increased efficiency and real business advantage.

A solid platform is a solid foundation on which to build your mobility-transformed business. The advantages of an infrastructure that provides the security you need and enables your employees to use the hardware, or the individual apps and services that work for your business are obvious. The device is a point of entry to company software and data. The process should work seamlessly so you can realize the business benefits and feel that increase in efficiency.

The software-defined workplace breaks down the tension between IT and business. It is flexible, scalable, and secure. It safeguards your assets and enables smarter utilization of resources. Greater agility allows you to adopt the very latest and greatest in software apps, services, or hardware. It makes sense for IT. It makes sense for employees of all levels. It makes sense for your business strategy.
