Finding the Best Web Hosting Service By @Cloudwedge | @CloudExpo [#Cloud]

Before you begin shopping, it is imperative that you create a list of traits that each web host must possess

Hosting a website shouldn't be a tedious task. With so many web hosting vendors to choose from, it can be hard to know where to start. Before you begin shopping, it is imperative that you create a list of traits that each web host must possess before making your short-list. As many with experience will tell you, all web hosting companies are not created equally and depending upon the types of apps you are trying to launch, it may be important to note that not one size fits all when you are shopping for web hosting services.

How Should Price Factor Into Your Decision?

Cheapest isn't always the best when it comes to web hosting. Take an inventory of the applications, web sites and other types of files you will be using with your new web host. Create a lists of hosts that meet your organization's core objectives. Instead of formulating your decision to purchase web hosting based solely on costs, you should focus squarely on factors such as company reputation, customer reviews and ease of use.

Technical Support: The Deal Maker/Breaker

Let's face it. Each and every web host does things a little bit differently. Systems configurations of some web hosts do not always play nicely with your apps. When you need to talk to a technical support agent that can actually help you on the first call, can you trust your hosting provider to give you that experience? It is often intimidating for end users to call a technical support hotline and most users would rather not do it at all. Be cognizant of the existing knowledge-base that the company has set-up in order to gauge how much support a company really offers. If the specific company has a robust knowledge-base, someone inside the company cares enough to consistently write about potential issues and this a huge positive.

Specialized Hosting Solutions: Are they Worth It?

It really depends upon your companies objectives. For example, some web hosts will claim to be the world's greenest hosting company. If your organization feels the need to portray a green-friendly image, this type of specialized host may be exactly what you need. Other hosts claim to be WordPress experts and that's fine, if you need WordPress expertise. It is important to gauge verified customer reviews in response to specialized web hosting outfits in order to get a feel for the level of service that they offer. Some larger web-hosts will spin off specialized hosting solutions in efforts to attract additional clientèle. If this is the case, you should also research verified reviews on the parent hosting provider as well before making any decisions concerning where you decide to host your website.
