Securing Your SOA Session at SOA World Conference & Expo 2007 East

Sekhar Sarukkai will introduce delegates in June to "Entitlement Management in a Service Oriented Architecture"

'Entitlement Management in a Service Oriented Architecture' is the title of the session to be given by Sekhar Sarukkai (pictured), co-founder and CTO of Securent, at SOA World 2007 - being held 25-27 June, 2007.

Sarukkai will at The Roosevelt Hotel in midtown Manhattan be addressing a mixed audience of developers, architects, IT managers, CXOs, analysts, VCs, and technology/business journalists. As companies embrace SOA and begin breaking apart monolithic applications, he will explain, the question of how to control and secure access becomes mission critical.

His session will introduce the concept of entitlement management and demonstrate why emerging standards such as XACML are crucial to administering and enforcing policies in a SOA. It will address the key question: How do you take advantage of the flexibility inherent in a SOA while ensuring that component services are properly secured and managed through established access control policies?

The approach needed, Sarukkai will say, is to decouple the access control logic from the component services and administer it centrally.

"Tomorrow's enterprise will be both agile and secured," he notes, as he puts the finshing touches this month to next month's presentation.

SOA World 2007 is the 11th successive international conference and expo produced by SYS-CON Events devotes to SOA, Web Services, and allied topics. The event will help developers, architects, IT managers, and CTOs to “get to work” on their SOA iniatives by suffusing them with technically astute insights and information. By the end of the three days they will be deeply informed about multiple aspects of this fast-emerging style of information systems architecture that enables the creation of applications built by combining loosely-coupled and interoperable services.

“The event, originally planned for 900 delegates, has struck such a chord with the industry that it has been expanded,” said Carmen Gonzalez, President & COO of SYS-CON Media.

In addition to Sarukkai, speakers will include some of the leading exponents of Service-Oriented Architecture in the world and the Conference program will be complemented by a full Expo floor featuring the world’s leading suppliers of software, Web services, and consultancy.

The full, expanded five-track program includes tracks on “Web 2.0/AJAX and SOA,” “Tools & Frameworks,” “Interoperability,” “Real-World SOA” and “Enterprise Open Source.”

Topics covered will include ESBs, Capability Modeling, “Outside-In” SOA, BPEL 2.0, Service-Oriented Modeling and Architecture, REST and RSS, Semantic Web, SOA Governance, The Internet as a Global SOA, Security Issues, Message-Oriented Middleware, and more.
