INDIANAPOLIS, March 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Indiana Connections Academy (INCA), one of the state's leading providers of virtual education for grades K-11, will be holding a series of free information sessions throughout Indiana for parents who want to learn more about the new, tuition-free, full- time, virtual public charter school. INCA will be accepting students from anywhere in the state beginning in spring 2007 for the 2007-2008 school year.
The information sessions will be held over the next six weeks in locations around the state. At these events, parents will have an opportunity to meet with representatives from Connections Academy, view the curriculum and demonstrations of the online Learning Management System, and thoroughly explore the program. A complete schedule with dates and locations is listed below, and is also available at http://www.connectionsacademy.com/ or by calling (800) 382-6010.
INCA is a virtual charter school, authorized through Ball State University that serves students in grades K-11, with plans to add 12th grade for the 2008-2009 school year. INCA offers a unique, high-quality curriculum, which uses technology and opportunities for face-to-face interactions to deliver individualized instruction following a Personalized Learning Plan developed for each student.
INCA meets the needs of students who are, for a variety of reasons, better suited to learning outside the traditional classroom. INCA is a public school and the curriculum adheres to the academic standards of the Indiana Department of Education.
INCA provides each family with a computer, a printer, an Internet subsidy, and superior technical support to facilitate communication and management of lessons. In addition to the state-of-the-art technology tools, students are provided with the textbooks and workbooks, and have opportunities to interact with other students through INCA-organized field trips.
