California's Tulare County Puts SOA in Action with Fiorano SOA Platform

Fiorano's SOA platform will enable real-time information exchange by integrating applications at different county departments

Fiorano Software, a provider of standards-based business process integration and messaging infrastructure, has announced that Tulare County, California, has selected the Fiorano SOA platform to enable real-time information exchange by integrating applications at different county departments involved in the justice process, such as, the Court, District Attorney, Probation, Public Defender and Sheriff.

“The addition of a native .NET runtime allows enterprise developers to build, manage and deploy complex distributed applications using multiple languages – as is the norm in most enterprises – over a single framework,” said Atul Saini, CEO and CTO of Fiorano.

The Fiorano ESB and SOA platform provides a seamless integration environment for applications developed using multiple technologies, including .NET, Java, C, and C++. With Fiorano’s native support for .NET, Java, C and C++, complex distributed processes can now be developed without losing flexibility or performance.

If you are one of the 397,000 residents of the County of Tulare, you can soon expect quicker delivery of services from the County’s justice department. “Improving the operational efficiency of its Justice machinery was a priority for the County,” said Mr. Eric Prosser, Chief Information Technology Officer of the County. “Early in 2006, we began looking at enabling technologies to streamline the exchange of information across our heterogeneous technology environments.”

“Mandated with the goal of streamlining delivery of services, we conducted a stringent technical Proof of Concept to evaluate various solutions,” explains Mr. Prosser. “Fiorano was selected for its ease of use, inherent design advantages and affordability.”
