Jazillian Expands Portfolio of Java(TM) Translation Solutions

New Solution Translates C++ to Java Code

SAN FRANCISCO, May 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Jazillian, Inc., a company specializing in translating legacy code to Java(TM) code, announced today its new translation solution designed to enable the migration of C++ to Java in SOA and J2EE web-based environments at the JavaOne(TM) Conference in San Francisco, CA.

Like Jazillian's C-to-Java Solution and the COBOL-to-Java Solution, this new solution replaces the manual rewrite process of code translation. Taking significantly less time and fewer resources, the solution enables clients to focus on the high-level design issues instead of time-consuming translation problems.

Using a pattern-matching, rules-based engine to generate "natural" Java source code, the C++-to-Java solution produces high-quality Java code that is readable, consistent and maintainable. The Java output code is customized based on client and application needs.

"This new solution addresses the issue of how can organizations quickly and economically modernize legacy C++ client-server applications to web-based applications in a J2EE and SOA environment," said Jazillian President Andy Tripp. "When companies are ready to make that move, we can provide the fastest and most cost-effective solution on the market."

All three Jazillian solutions speed the modernization of legacy mainframe and client-server systems to web-based application environments. Jazillian generates error-free, readable, maintainable code that is 100 percent usable and realistic. It is ideal for environments where large legacy code bases have traditionally made justifying rewrites and new development difficult due to time constraints, extensive resources and huge costs.

The Jazillian team will be exhibiting its C++-to-Java Translation Solution at Booth #1135 during the JavaOne Conference. For those unable to attend, find out more information by contacting [email protected].

Two weeks ago (November 3-5), I attended the Cloud Expo Silicon Valley as a speaker, where I presented on the security and privacy due diligence requirements for cloud solutions. Cloud security is a topical issue for every CIO, CISO, and technology buyer. Decision-makers are always looking for insights on how to mitigate the security risks of implementing and using cloud solutions. Based on the presentation topics covered at the conference, as well as the general discussions heard between sessio...
While the focus and objectives of IoT initiatives are many and diverse, they all share a few common attributes, and one of those is the network. Commonly, that network includes the Internet, over which there isn't any real control for performance and availability. Or is there? The current state of the art for Big Data analytics, as applied to network telemetry, offers new opportunities for improving and assuring operational integrity. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Jim Frey, Vice President of S...

The Internet of Things is clearly many things: data collection and analytics, wearables, Smart Grids and Smart Cities, the Industrial Internet, and more. Cool platforms like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Intel's Galileo and Edison, and a diverse world of sensors are making the IoT a great toy box for developers in all these areas. In this Power Panel at @ThingsExpo, moderated by Conference Chair Roger Strukhoff, panelists discussed what things are the most important, which will have the most profound e...
The Jevons Paradox suggests that when technological advances increase efficiency of a resource, it results in an overall increase in consumption. Writing on the increased use of coal as a result of technological improvements, 19th-century economist William Stanley Jevons found that these improvements led to the development of new ways to utilize coal. In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Mark Thiele, Chief Strategy Officer for Apcera, compared the Jevons Paradox to modern-day enterprise IT, examin...
