"Where we are moving now is if you look at products today from Rational, 80% of them are Eclipse-integrated today. As a general, strategic direction, we are moving them from Eclipse-integrated to Eclipse-based."
"You will see greater and greater integration and construction on top of the Eclipse framework, so basically, Eclipse is at the core of all the products that we build as part of the software development platform."
Jeffrey Hammond, group market manager for IBM Rational Software
[speaking during a news briefing, March 28, 2003]

I just wish that IBM Rational would speed up their development of XDE that would work with WSAD 5.1 / Eclipse 2.1. How long has this been available 4+ month at least. IBM Rational support keeps replying that it will be ready in 2 months. They told us that in November and they where still telling us that last week. It is not like the WSAD 5.1 / Eclipse 2.1 release was a surprise. WSAD has never been that far behind upgrading to the new release of Eclipse and IBM Rational should have the same standard for XDE. |
