Wily Adds Application Management Support for HP NonStop Platform

Wily Technology has extended its application management tools to support Java applications running on HP NonStop servers. Introscope 5.0, cornerstone of the Wily family of products for monitoring and managing mission-critical applications, will enable HP customers to achieve the highest levels of availability and performance for Java applications running on HP NonStop servers.

According to market research firm Dataquest, it is estimated that today over one-third of worldwide businesses run 24x7, and the number of businesses running 24x7 will grow to about 60% over the next few years. Additionally, the growing number of Java and J2EE applications in production environments dramatically increases the need to manage and monitor complex and integrated applications, especially on high-availability hardware platforms designed for 24x7 operations.

Wily's Introscope is the industry's only application management solution that enables enterprises to keep their Java applications high-performing and available 24x7, without compromising performance. Wily provides component-level visibility across the entire application environment to accurately identify bottlenecks, rapidly resolve and triage problems before customers are impacted and meet performance and business goals. HP NonStop servers are designed for continuous availability and scalability and are selected for mission-critical applications in financial, telco, government, healthcare, supply chain and e-business environments.

According to a recent Wily Benchmark Survey of J2EE Application Performance and Availability, results showed that even in today's competitive 24x7 economy, applications availability reported averages only 88%. The finding suggests that on average, companies are losing over 20 hours, or nearly one full day per week, of availability. This demonstrates that there is a need for organizations to invest in structured management processes to triage and resolve problems; dedicated application management resources; and better tools to enable real time monitoring and rapid problem isolation.

"With the high cost of downtime for large-scale, mission-critical applications such as those running on NonStop servers, performance management tools are of paramount importance," said Chris Rooke, vice president, NonStop Solutions Marketing, HP. "Wily's application management software simplifies managing Java applications in mission-critical environments. Wily is providing with HP a solid solution that is making the software as highly-available and scalable as the hardware." a
