iWay and Sun to Provide Integration Adapter Solutions for Sun Java Enterprise System

At JavaOne, iWay Software and Sun Microsystems announced a reseller relationship focused on delivering intelligent integration adapters to Sun Java Enterprise System customers. Under the terms of the contract, iWay Software will deliver optimized adapters for connectivity to mission-critical back-end systems using Java System Application Server 7 or 8.

iWay Integration adapters developed for the Java Enterprise System can reduce the amount of hand-coded connections needed between disparate systems, which can lower the TCO of applications built with Sun tools. The benefit to Sun developers is that integration with outside IT assets can be accomplished with minimal effort using iWay Software's Universal Adapter Framework. Adapters provide fast, efficient, and reusable access to critical information assets, while supporting standards like J2EE Connector Architecture (J2CA) and Web Services Interoperability (WS-I). Some of the IT assets that can be easily integrated with Java Enterprise System using iWay adapters include PeopleSoft, SAP, Siebel, Oracle, Tibco, WebSphere MQ, and Microsoft Messaging Queuing (MSMQ), CICS, IMS, and BEA Tuxedo.

"Integrating disparate systems is one of the biggest IT challenges that businesses face today," says Mark Bauhaus, vice president, Java Web Services for Sun Microsystems. "Our alliance with iWay Software to provide simplified integration solutions for the Java Enterprise System platform aims to reduce the complexity of accomplishing this business and IT goal."
