CA's Temp CEO Finds He Can Resist Anything...Except Temptation

CA's Temp CEO Finds He Can Resist Anything...Except Temptation

Gossip out of Computer Associates says the company’s reluctant interim CEO Ken Cron, seduced by the company jet, the company helicopter and all the attention, has decided he likes it and has joined Bush and Kerry in running for office.

Insiders figure he’ll get the job permanently because CA chairman Lew Ranieri, who also appreciates the company plane, likes being chairman and likes having a malleable CEO.

Meanwhile, the government, whose corruption probe is responsible for elevating both men to their current eminence, has reportedly decided in its infinite wisdom that it wants to wrap up both a settlement with the company and issue the expected swat of indictments, including that of CA’s former CEO Sanjay Kumar, simultaneously.

Expectations are it could take a few more weeks.
