Samsung Licenses GlooNet Media Platform In Korea

Gives Remote Access To Personal Media

GlooLabs announced that Samsung has licensed the GlooNet media platform. GlooLabs and Samsung will work together to introduce innovative remote access services for personal digital content to the Korean market. These services, powered by GlooNet, will allow users to access their personal media (music, photos, and video) stored on a home computer or other media storage device from remote locations.

Samsung is the leading IT services company in Korea, providing consulting, systems integration, IT outsourcing, and engineering outsourcing services. In collaboration with GlooLabs, Samsung will develop a Korean version of the GlooNet service, demonstrating capabilities such as remote access to home music and photo collections from handheld devices such as mobile phones.

"We are very excited that Samsung has chosen the GlooNet platform to enable remote access services in Korea," said David Arfin, CEO of GlooLabs. "The combination of high broadband penetration and the proliferation of the digital lifestyle devices makes Korea an ideal market for GlooNet."

The partnership between Samsung and GlooLabs will enable rapid deployment of GlooNet powered service by Samsung and their partners. The initial services will highlight the ability to access photos stored on a home computer or set-top box from a mobile phone or a remote PC.

"The capabilities of the GlooNet platform make it an ideal solution for Samsung," said Ted Kim, chief business development manager, Embedded Systems, at Samsung . "GlooNet touches a variety of initiatives within Samsung Group and the fact that we were able to deploy a Samsung branded site in a matter of days, is a testament to the robust and flexible platform that GlooLabs has developed."
