The K10 uses Java in order to bring a host of features to the phone. It features numerous downloadable games, wallpapers and ringtones, as well as personalized content. Other features include Virgin's Superphonic Ringtones, voice-activated dialing, calendars, alarm clock, predictive text-input and a built-in contact directory. The handset comes pre-loaded with demos of Bowling and Bejeweled from Jamdat Mobile.
This is not the first time Virgin Mobile has debuted a Kyocera handset. The MVNO was the first carrier to introduce the Kyocera Slider V5 in North America. Virgin also offers the Kyocera K9 and K7 Rave.
"Virgin Mobile's focus on the youth market makes it the ideal carrier to help launch [the K10]," said Jim Kelly, Kyocera's executive vice president and COO, in a prepared statement.
The K10 will make its market debut this month at Virgin Mobile retail partner outlets, as well as online. Pricing has not yet been released.
