Metallect Announces Early Beta Edition of XMuddle for Java

New Modeling Technology Available for Java Developers

Metallect announced the availability of an early beta release of its new architecture modeling software, XMuddle for Java.

“The response from our alpha users has been overwhelmingly positive, so we decided to make the software available to a wider community earlier than originally planned,” said Frank Auger, CEO of Metallect. “Even though we are still in active development, we are seeing demand for more open access prior to the public beta  There have been vast improvements in XMuddle’s look and feel as well as to the underlying engine. Our focus on interactive white-board style diagrams makes XMuddle such a unique concept in its field.”

Alpha builds of XMuddle have been available since September 2007 to registered Early Access Program members. This announcement marks the first time the pre-release software has been available to anyone without program registration. XMuddle is scheduled for public beta later this year.

“As a developer, I'm building as well as using XMuddle to help keep my development cycles lean,” said Chip Caver, principal engineer on the XMuddle development team. “Being able to quickly rise above the forest of code to see a diagram of my progress keeps me focused on the architectural design goals.”

XMuddle gives developers and QA professionals the capability to reverse engineer a collection of Java .jar files and quickly generate an interactive architecture and dependency diagram. More than just call graph walking, XMuddle leverages the latest program analysis and data flow research to provide visibility with unprecedented precision.
