ILOG Elixir 1.0 Complements Flex and Adobe AIR Software for Creating Rich Internet Applications

ILOG Ships Elixir 1.0 for Adobe Flex 3 with Feature and Sales Channel Enhancements

ILOG announced that its graphical visualization offering for Adobe Flex, ILOG Elixir, is shipping with feature and sales channel enhancements. ILOG also announced that the product will be made available to Independent Software Vendors (ISV) for OEM use through ILOG’s sales and support organization.

ILOG Elixir 1.0 enables creation of advanced, business-critical and engaging Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) for the browser and the desktop using Adobe Flex 3 and Adobe AIRsoftware – from dashboards to planning and human resources displays. ILOG Elixir 1.0 features seven components, including a new one dedicated to gauges and dials. The new component enables drag and drop interface design and an advanced dedicated framework for specific gauge creation with fine-tuned appearance and behavior for custom business dashboards.

“Our collaboration with ILOG adds important value to the RIA ecosystem,” said Dave Gruber, group product marketing manager for Adobe Flex at Adobe. “ILOG Elixir provides sophisticated user displays and essential graphical data components for developers and enterprises using Adobe Flex and Adobe AIR to build and deploy the most engaging applications with the widest reach across browsers, desktops and operating systems.” During its Beta period, ILOG Elixir was warmly received by the Adobe Flex community, as evidenced by the following customer testimonials:

“ILOG Elixir was a key asset in our next generation energy management portal development. It allowed us to save important development efforts and the product team support was first class” said Earl Battey, I.T. Application Manager, Cirro Energy.

“We believe ILOG Elixir to be a perfect complement to Adobe Flex data displays for our next generation enterprise wide product lines for training management and information systems and dashboards,” said Bharadwaj Revuri, Product Manager, Sankhya Technologies.

“Elixir is hands down the best Flex reporting framework available on the market today,” said Igor Ulis, CEO, SharpStyle Labs, Inc. “Ease of use combined with extensive visualization options make Elixir a logical choice for business intelligence applications across all industries. ILOG has been a pleasure to work with and we look forward to a long and flourishing business relationship.”

“We are impressed with the quality and completeness of the first version of Elixir,” said Ralf Schroeder, Product Manager Technology, Workday, Inc. “ILOG’s solution provides immediate value to our Business Services and we are looking forward to expanding our partnership in the future.”

In addition to the new gauges and dials module, ILOG Elixir 1.0 includes the following six graphical data-display components:

  • 3D charts
  • Maps of the world
  • Radar chart
  • Organization charts
  • Gantt resource chart
  • Treemaps

Additionally for a more productive design and development experience, ILOG Elixir is integrated with Adobe Flex Builder — an Eclipse based development tool to accelerate Flex application development. Developers can drag and drop Elixir components and use the property manager to configure display and behavior characteristics.
