Joshua Alpern, vice president of sales engineering at Applimation, and Bill Knighton, Director of IT – Financial Applications for CEVA Logistics will lead a panel discussion on data archiving best practices at Collaborate 08: Technology and Applications Forum for the Oracle Community.
In the session “Archiving Best Practices for Oracle Applications,” Alpern will outline the complexities of data archiving today and explain how business requirements such as compliance, e-discovery, and legacy application retirement are driving organizations to implement multi-faceted archiving solutions throughout the enterprise. Knighton will highlight his recent deployment of Applimation’s Informia Archive and subsequent results including increased system and application performance, reduced storage capacity requirements and better online performance.
Attendees will gain a greater understanding of the different methods of application archiving and the challenge and advantages of each method. They will also learn how to effectively archive their data within Oracle applications using Applimation’s Informia Archive solution.

Joshua Alpern has been with Applimation for more than seven years working in virtually every department of the company, from product development to professional services.
He has worked internationally in the IT industry for more than ten years, living abroad in Asia and the Middle East for five years before joining Applimation. He has a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration from Boston University.
Bill Knighton, Director IT – Financial Applications for CEVA Logistics has more than 30 years experience as an IT professional working in manufacturing, consulting, retail, transportation and distribution. He has a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Systems from the University of Boulder, Colorado.
