Migration from IBM Rational Application Developer to MyEclipse 6.5 Blue Edition

Developers Currently Working With IBM RAD 6 and WebSphere Can Now Migrate Projects Into MyEclipse 6.5 Blue Edition

Genuitec announced the availability of the milestone release of MyEclipse 6.5 Blue Edition, a tailored, customizable tool suite for WebSphere developers.

Notably, this initial release of MyEclipse 6.5 Blue Edition offers project migration support. Developers currently working with IBM Rational Application Developer (RAD) 6 and WebSphere Application Developer (WSAD) 5 can now migrate projects into MyEclipse 6.5 Blue Edition.

Additionally, the milestone release now enables developers to configure, launch and manage multiple WebSphere profiles simultaneously from within the IDE. This capability gives WebSphere developers a range of new freedoms to concurrently develop, deploy and debug their enterprise Java applications to any number of their customized WebSphere profiles. Many MyEclipse Blue customers plan to use this support to evaluate use of the new WebSphere feature packs for Java EE 5 JAX-WS web services, EJB3 and JPA technologies while simultaneously continuing development on their current application technology platform. MyEclipse Blue Edition seamlessly supports this functionality and many other advanced multiple WebSphere profile usage scenarios.

“Blue was birthed and continues to evolve as a result of customer requests. Our users needed a product that provided popular technologies and worked with WebSphere without leaving a huge footprint,” said Maher Masri, CEO for Genuitec. “Responding to the call, Genuitec is pleased to provide tools for WebSphere users faster than anyone in the market.”

Following this M1 release, the GA of MyEclipse 6.5 Blue Edition is slated for June, 2008 and will include portlet support among other usability enhancement demanded by customers.
