EnterpriseDB Releases Java Application Generator Plug-in for Postgres Studio

Plug-in Leverages JBoss Seam Framework for One-Click Creation of Postgres-Based AJAX Applications

EnterpriseDB released a plug-in for Postgres Studio that creates an AJAX-enabled Java application based on a Postgres database table or schema. Postgres Studio is a graphical database administration console that is built on the widely admired pgAdmin foundation and only available as part of Postgres Plus. The plug-in generates Java source code, scripts, NetBeans, and Eclipse project files for screen-based applications that can create, read, update, and delete records in target Postgres databases. The plug-in extensively leverages the JBoss Seam Framework, creating a pre-configured Seam environment for Postgres Plus.

"The new Java application generator plug-in for Postgres Studio is perfect for Java developers learning to use Postgres Plus in a J2EE environment," said Bob Zurek, chief technology officer, EnterpriseDB. "The sample code created by the plug-in is a great jumping-off point for sophisticated applications of all kinds that can be readily deployed on the JBoss Enterprise Application Platform. Java developers should be pleased to learn about the many benefits that Postgres Plus' enterprise-class feature set and performance can offer."

"EnterpriseDB Postgres Studio plug-in makes it easier for Java developers using JBoss Seam with JBoss Developer Studio and JBoss Enterprise Application Platform to develop on Postgres," said Aaron Darcy, product line director, JBoss, a division of Red Hat. "We're pleased to have EnterpriseDB playing a larger role in the JBoss partner community."
