Interphase Systems Responds to Increased Demand for Virtualization Services

The Company Appoints Lew Smith as Product Manager for Virtualization Solutions

Interphase Systems announced it has named Lew Smith as Product Manager, Virtualization Solutions. In this newly created position, he will be responsible for leading and building Interphase's virtualization practice and offerings, with a concentration on the key technologies that will benefit the company's customers. Smith will continue to build relationships with existing technology partners, as well as engaging in new partner relationships.

Smith comes to Interphase Systems with 11 years of experience working with large enterprise companies in the areas of IT project management and large-scale application management. Most recently, he served as a senior project manager at Advanced Automation, a manufacturing systems integrator, where he managed multiple million dollar projects within the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.

"Earlier this year, Gartner published a report indicating that virtualization will be 'the highest impact trend in the infrastructure and operations market through 2012,'" said Smith. "More and more companies are realizing the initial and long-term benefits of virtualization, which has now worked its way into all of the Fortune 100 companies, as well as most of the Fortune 1000 companies. I'm very excited to work with Interphase and their customers to further develop this technology offering as the industry demand continues to increase."

"Virtualization is our fastest growing practice area and we had the need for a dedicated Product Manager with the expertise and experience to lead this part of our business," said John Biglin, CEO of Interphase Systems. "We are thrilled to have Smith join us at this important time to help expand our growing virtualization practice nationwide and bring businesses a solution that will save them time, money, and energy, while also providing increased security and disaster recovery capability."

Lew Smith holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Elon College in Elon, NC. He currently lives in Kennett Square, PA.
