I wanted to flag a post on PhoneScoop by Eric Zeman that appeared recently. Eric writes that "Google has added editing capabilities to the mobile version of their spreadsheet program". These new features will allow users to open the document on their smartphone and make changes that will be reflected when the document is next opened on a desktop computer.
I think this is a great example of mobile phones gaining more functionality for the enterprise, and this additional functionality is certainly beneficial in today’s mobile business world. Though now I believe you can't loose sight that good security and management for whatever device you are using, is a necessity.
As one of the Sybase Technical Evangelists, Ian regularly addresses technical audiences all over the world and his sessions are always very well attended. He also writes education classes, whitepapers, demos and articles for various Sybase products and publishes regularly in Journals such as SYS-CON's PBDJ and International Developer Magazine. In addition, Ian is a dedicated technical expert continually working with Sybase's key partners and clients to enhance the capabilities of the Unwired solutions that Sybase can offer to its customers.
