BEA Systems CTO Mark Carges Scheduled to Deliver Keynote Address on Enterprise Java at JavaOne 2005
BEA Celebrates Company's and Java's 10th Anniversary With More Than 25 Conference Sessions and Sneak Previews of Future Technolo

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Celebrating 10 years of Java innovation, BEA Systems, Inc. , a world leader in enterprise infrastructure software, today announced that the company is scheduled to host a plethora of activities at one of the world's largest software developer shows, including a keynote address, sneak previews of future innovations and over 25 interactive discussions to help shape the future of Java technology.

On Monday June 27th, Mark Carges, chief technology officer, BEA Systems is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the 2005 JavaOne(SM) conference. Carges' keynote, titled "Enterprise Java: Much More than J2EE(TM)" is from 1:15 to 2:00pm Pacific Daylight Time in [Hall D] at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Carges is expected to reflect on the evolution of Java(TM) 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) and discuss new innovations in programming models and tools, advances in standards, management, and the effects of open source on this critical set of technologies. He will also identify key innovations and opportunities, give a sneak preview of cutting-edge new development, and announce new offerings relevant to enterprise Java developers. The keynote address will also be available as a webcast at http://wcdata.sun.com/webcast/archives/VIP-1981/ . Additionally, there will be a Q&A session for media immediately following the keynote address (2:00 to 2:30pm Pacific Daylight Time) in room 123 of the Moscone Center.

In addition, BEA is scheduled to host more than 25 conference sessions, industry panels and birds of a feather discussions on various topics including:

-- The Apache Beehive Framework: An overview of the technologies in Beehive and how they can be used to build J2EE applications and integrate with other Java technologies; -- Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Data Services: This session discusses data in the emerging SOA world and the present day technologies that are causing problems and offering solutions. In particular the talk introduces the notion of data services and then recommends a new methodology based on XML technology standards designed to help enterprise application developers model and manage data and associated metadata in a truly integrated way in the world of SOA; -- J2EE and telecom: An overview of key trends in the telecommunications industry and a discussion of developing telecom applications in Java technology for helping to enable the next-generation IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) services; -- An Update on Service Data Objects (SDO): Explores how the SDO is evolving, for example, improved support for SOA enhancements and how SDO is being used today as the data programming model for an SOA application; and -- Java(TM) Message Service Tips and Tricks for Scalable Messaging: This session discusses JMS API design techniques and best practices gathered over time from the experiences of programmers and administrators who work with the JMS API. Discussions will include JMS clustering high availability and performance message ordering poison message handling transactional messaging and diagnosing common problems.
