Developing with DCOM & Java @ JAVA DEVELOPER'S JOURNAL

Developing distributed components with Java and DCOM (distributed component object model) simplifies developing distributed applications. If you know CORBA or RMI, DCOM is easy to learn. Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine makes developing COM and DCOM components painless.

Hello There, Very well written article. But you need not only use Microsoft Java to Bridge with COM. You can use j-Interop as well, which is an open source (LGPL) implementation of DCOM protocol, so it supports making COM calls even from a Non Windows OS.
