Tek-Tools Joins the VMware Virtualization Partner Program
The VMware TAP Program Helps Technology Vendors Integrate their Products with VMware Virtualization Software

Tek-Tools announced that it has joined the VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program. The VMware TAP program helps technology vendors integrate their products with VMware virtualization software and deliver timely, joint solutions to mutual customers.

“We are excited to welcome Tek-Tools as the newest member of the VMware TAP program,” said Bernie Mills, senior director, alliance programs, VMware. “The VMware TAP program offers companies like Tek-Tools the tools and resources they need to develop high-value solutions that meet the needs of our mutual customers.”

“The proliferation of virtualization technologies in the enterprise brings great utilization benefits to customers and a new element to manage in their complex data centers,” said Ken Barth, CEO, Tek-Tools. “Many of our customers are requesting our tools to manage their newly virtualized data centers. Profiler for VMware was introduced in February 2008 and represented 40 percent of all Tek-Tools software licenses sold to new and existing customers in the first quarter. We are excited to join the VMware TAP program to work more closely with VMware. We intend to continue to develop solutions that deliver value to our customers allowing them to adopt virtualization to manage IT assets and maximize resource utilization.”

With more than 650 members worldwide, the VMware TAP program works with best-of-breed technology partners to provide them a comprehensive set of VMware technical and marketing services, support, tools and expertise to deliver enhanced value to joint customers.

By the way, the general public's appetite for RFID is comparable to its taste and acceptance of genetically modified food or hormones in milk. The only way to force it down the throat of the public, is to make it illegal to discuss it (like hormones in milk) and to mandate everybody to use it. Even Walmart can't do that. You need the government to use brute force and to "create the market".
Daniel Howard wrote: To seize upon a minor point, Skok states: "''That complexity is necessary in certain respects (as distributed applications are complex in nature). Expert developers appreciate the need for this. However, not enough attention has been paid to simplifying development, and making Java more accessible to a less expert audience who I believe make up at least 60% of the corporate developer audience.''" "The most promising answer to the over-complication of J2EE, Skok adds, is something JBoss introduced in their 4.0 release: aspect oriented programming." AOP is definitely a revolution along the same lines that OOP was a revolution. Like OOP, it will only simplify development for expert programmers who learn it well, not for the less expert audience. Like OOP, poorly written AOP will be even more difficult and error-prone than poorly written J2EE. Even today, I know many people who...
